The Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) at Atish Dipankar University of Science and Technology (ADUST) recently organized an impactful seminar titled “AI (Artificial Intelligence) for Future Leaders,” aimed at inspiring students to embrace the rapidly evolving world of artificial intelligence and its transformative potential.
The seminar was held on Tuesday, May 27, at 11:00 AM, in the university’s main auditorium. The event brought together faculty, students, academic leaders, and industry professionals for a meaningful exchange of knowledge and ideas. Abdullah Al Mamun and Fahmidul Alam, Country Heads at Netcom Global Bangladesh Ltd, attended as keynote speakers and shared valuable insights into the practical applications of AI in the global workforce and future tech landscapes.
The session was honored by the presence of Professor Dr. Md. Jahangir Alam, the Vice-Chancellor of ADUST, who attended as the chief guest. In addition, the event was enriched by the participation of several high-ranking academic officials, including Professor Dr. ABM Shahidul Islam, the university’s Chief Academic Advisor, and Md. Abdul Kaiyum Sardar, Registrar of the university. Faculty members from the CSE department, as well as chairpersons and coordinators from other departments, were also in attendance, demonstrating the cross-disciplinary importance of AI in education and research.
In his address, Vice-Chancellor Dr. Jahangir Alam highlighted the importance of such seminars in bridging the gap between academic learning and industry expectations. The seminar officially began with a welcome address by Sharmin Akhter, Chairperson of the CSE Department, who introduced the theme of the event and shed light on the growing role of AI across industries. One of the key highlights of the seminar was the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Netcom Learning Global Bangladesh Ltd and Atish Dipankar University of Science and Technology. This strategic partnership aims to foster collaboration in areas such as professional training, joint research, and student development initiatives, especially in emerging technologies like AI, machine learning, and data analytics.
During the second session, an interactive Q&A took place where students shared their aspirations and posed thoughtful questions on AI, its real-world implementations, and career opportunities.
