The Embassy of China in Bangladesh has commenced a “Green Channel” to bolster medical treatment visa services to China.
During the visit of Chief Adviser Mohammad Younus to China last month, a host of topics were discussed, including how to access the world’s second-largest economy’s cutting-edge medical facilities and the burgeoning bilateral relationship—especially as India has drastically reduced its visa approvals.
As the latest development in bilateral relations, the Chinese Embassy in Dhaka announced several conveniences on their verified Facebook page. These include simplified documentation requirements, dedicated Green Channel services, and a streamlined interview process.
Domestic travel agencies with valid business licenses may now issue guarantee letters for individuals seeking medical treatment in China. They may also authorize bank deposit certificates and proof of kinship, bypassing the need for approval from the foreign ministry.
Under the dedicated “Green Channel Service,” the Chinese Embassy and Visa Center have introduced the following hotlines:
Embassy: 02222260103, 01708464809
Visa Center: 02226603261
Additionally, a WhatsApp service group has been launched for medical visa inquiries.
According to their verified Facebook page:
“Online applications will be prioritized and reviewed immediately upon submission. A dedicated counter for medical visas has been set up at the Visa Center.”
As part of the streamlined interview process, medical visa applicants will receive queue-free priority interviews. In case of a physical inability to appear due to medical conditions, authorization from travel agencies will be sufficient for a remote interview.
