TED X CUET event, an internationally licensed TED X event, was held at Chittagong University of Engineering and Technology for the first time in history on June 28 based on the theme “Resilience : Rising Beyond Limits”.
The event took place at the university’s central auditorium and was attended by numerous distinguished guests from faculty members to professionals from diverse fields. A large crowd of audience was seen enjoying the program with heavy interest and joy.
The event welcomed Professor Dr. Saleh Hasan Naqib, Vice-Chancellor of Rajshahi University, as a keynote speaker. In his speech, he highlighted the importance of resilience in navigating both academic and professional challenges in an ever-changing world.
CUET Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Mahmud Abdul Matin Bhuiyan addressed the gathering as the Chief Patron, emphasizing the significance of platforms like TEDx in inspiring innovation and critical thinking among students.
The event began with a welcome speech by Professor Dr. Md. Abu Moazzem Hossain, Deputy Director of CUET’s Directorate of Student Welfare. Professor Dr. Jamal Uddin Ahmed, Director of the Institute of Energy Technology and advisor to TEDxCUET, also delivered remarks on the relevance of resilience in today’s socio-technical landscape.
The program was moderated by CUET Computer Science and Engineering students Tanayem Mohammad Tanim, Adid Rahman, and Jarif Mohtasim. The organizing team was led by Obaidullah Afzal, a fourth-year CSE student, with Adil Raihan serving as co-organizer.
Throughout the event, participants engaged in idea exchange, motivational talks, and networking opportunities, aligning with the core TEDx mission of “ideas worth spreading.”
The successful launch of TEDxCUET marks a new milestone in CUET’s journey towards fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and resilience among the next generation of engineers and changemakers.
