On Monday, Presidency University in Dhaka hosted a full-day event titled “Eye Health Campaign 2025,” organized by the university’s Social Service Club in partnership with the Ispahani Islamia Eye Institute and Hospital. The initiative aimed to raise awareness about eye health while offering comprehensive eye care services to students, faculty, and staff.
Running from 9:00 AM to 1:30 PM, the campaign attracted over 250 participants, including students, teachers, officers, and other staff members. Attendees received initial eye screenings to identify potential vision problems, alongside educational sessions that highlighted eye care practices and preventive measures to maintain healthy eyesight.
A dedicated team of nine professionals from Ispahani Islamia Eye Hospital, comprising experienced doctors, optometrists, counselors, nurses, and support staff, managed the eye examinations and guided participants throughout the event. Their expertise ensured personalized care and accurate assessments for everyone who attended.
The campaign was graced by the presence of the university’s Vice-Chancellor, Professor Dr. Md. Abdul Mannan Chowdhury, who served as the chief guest. Special guests included Professor Dr. Anwarul Kabir, Principal Advisor of the university, and Dr. Delwar Hossain Khan from Ispahani Islamia Hospital. Other key university officials who addressed the event were Treasurer Professor A.H.M. Faruk, Registrar Md. Zakir Hossain, Dean of the School of Law Professor Mohammad Azharul Islam, Controller of Examinations Md. The blend of live eye checkups and awareness programs left a meaningful impact on all attendees. Many students were able to identify early symptoms of eye conditions, and those requiring further medical attention were provided referral cards to access specialized treatment at Ispahani Islamia Eye Hospital.
The Social Service Club’s members, volunteers, and executive panel worked diligently to ensure the smooth and successful running of the campaign. The university administration reaffirmed its commitment to involving students more deeply in community welfare initiatives through clubs, balancing these activities alongside their academic and research commitments in the future.
