A milestone has achieved by two undergraduate students from the department of CSE of BUET in the academic and research world.
For the first time, International Conference on Machine Learning (ICML) selected a thesis from Bangladesh also recognized as ‘Spotlight Paper’.
ICML – is one of the best conference of AI and machine learning. 12,107 of thesis submitted in this year. Only 3,260 of them were selected. Only 313of totals received spotlight recognition as High Quality Research.
The thesis was done by Mahir Labib Dihan and Md. Tanvir Hasan. Both of them are students of batch 19 of CSE of BUET. Professor Dr. Mohammed Eunus Ali of BUET’s CSE department and Scientist Dr. Md. Rizwan Parvez of QCRI were supervised them.
The test of their MapEval tests, how well AI models understand real world map, location and navigation questions. This research will help to enable AI to understand and respond.
