From Campus to Cosmos: DIU’s Quest for Knowledge Reverberates Worldwide

Daffodil International University (DIU) has proudly secured the 11th position in Bangladesh on the prestigious Global Nature Index, a global ranking that recognizes institutions for producing high-quality scientific research. This remarkable achievement comes in light of a groundbreaking research article published in The Lancet, one of the world’s most respected and influential medical journals.

The credit for this accomplishment goes to Safayet Jamil, a dedicated student of the Master of Public Health (MPH) program at DIU’s Department of Public Health. His outstanding research has not only brought personal acclaim but also strengthened the university’s standing among the country’s leading research institutions at an international level. Jamil’s recent article in The Lancet showcases the quality, relevance, and impact of DIU’s research efforts on the global stage.

Professor Dr. ABM Alauddin Chowdhury, Head of the Department of Public Health at DIU, emphasized the significance of this achievement. Among more than 1,200 research papers published by DIU over the past year, Jamil’s article was uniquely recognized by the Nature Index for its exceptional quality and scientific contribution. This milestone reflects DIU’s ongoing commitment to advancing global research, nurturing innovation among students, and enhancing Bangladesh’s academic visibility internationally.

Beyond institutional recognition, this accomplishment has also opened promising career opportunities for Safayet Jamil. He has become eligible for the EB-1A fast-track U.S. green card, a prestigious status reserved for individuals with extraordinary research achievements. This distinction highlights the global reach and professional impact of DIU’s research community.

Dr. Md. Sabur Khan, Chairman of Daffodil International University, remarked that this success story represents more than just the achievements of a single researcher. It symbolizes the remarkable outcomes that emerge when vision and opportunity come together. He expressed immense pride in Jamil’s accomplishment and reiterated the university’s dedication to elevating research excellence and fostering an environment where students can excel in scientific inquiry.

This achievement reinforces DIU’s vision to be a leading hub for academic and research excellence in Bangladesh and beyond, inspiring students and faculty alike to pursue groundbreaking work that contributes meaningfully to global knowledge.
