Chief Adviser’s Office steps to integrate several investment agencies into the one body. According to the consolidation plan, the Bangladesh Economic Zones Authority (BEZA), the Bangladesh Export Processing Zones Authority (BEPZA), the Bangladesh Hi-Tech Park Authority (BHTPA), the Bangladesh Small and Cottage Industries Corporation (BSCIC), and the Public-Private Partnership Authority (PPPA) and Bangladesh Investment Development Authority (BIDA) itself would be integrated into BIDA. According to the government, this move is aimedat reducing redtape and promoting fastest business environment.
The plan will be executed according to Bida’s recommendation made by Bida’s government body on 13 April. A gazette notification has been issued by the Chief adviser’s office, announcing the formation of assessment committee. The gazette says the assessment committee will examine the feasibility and implication of this integration plan.
