A Innovation by Professor Dr. Javed Hossain Khan of Jessore University of Science and Technology
Fertilizer in an important ingredient in crop production. In past time, farmers used to collect all household waste and the droppings of domestic animals and birds in one place and decompose it and use it as fertilizer.
A major change began due to chemical fertilizers such as urea, nitrogen, phosphorus and potash along with organic fertilizers came into the market in the late 1960s.
However, due to intensive cultivation for a long time, soil started to lose its fertility. Only 30-34% of the fertilizer that farmers used in their land to increase and protect soil fertility is used by the crops. And the remaining 60-70% is wasted, mixed with water and causes environmental damage.
Scientists have been researching for a long time to solve this problem. And the result is Nano Fertilizer. Which is invented by Bangladeshi Professor Dr. Javed Khan of Jessore University of Science and Technology.
this researcher claims that cultivating one bigha of land will cost only 230 taka of Nano Urea. Whereas the current cost is 4,200 taka including subsidies. Accordingly, the cost of using Nano Urea will be reduced by about 82% compared to conventional fertilizers.
The invention has already passed in several tests in the US. Also an agreement has been signed with a American Organic Fertilizer Manufacturing Company, ColaBio. ColaBio will receive Nano Fertilizer Technology from Nam Lab of JUST. They also share their Biotechnology with Nam Lab.
This invention is patented in his name.
Hopefully, the use of nanotechnology will preserve the fertility of agricultural land but also reduce production cost.
