“Teenage Engineering’s Surprising New Product: An Electric Moped”

There are several organizations are in this world. Which are continuously surprising us by innovating many kind of gadgets. Teenage Engineering is one of them.

Teenage Engineering

Teenage Engineering is a company from Sweden. They are known for making cool and expensive music tools like the OP-1 and OP-XY. But sometimes, they create other things that are not related to music at all. Their newest idea is very surprising — an electric moped called the EPA-1.

Other Projects

This is not the first time Teenage Engineering has made something unusual. They once made a desk called the Field Desk, which cost $1,599. They also worked with IKEA to design lights and speakers. And they helped create a small AI gadget with another company, but it didn’t get good reviews.

Introduction to EPA-1

Now they’ve teamed up with a Swedish e-bike company called Vässla to make the EPA-1 electric moped. This is a big change from their usual music products.

Design and Marketing

The EPA-1 looks just like something Teenage Engineering would make. It has a modern, simple, and clean look. Their marketing sounds fancy too. They say things like, “It’s not like the others… It’s smarter to own.”

Features and Specs

The moped comes in two versions. You can choose a 30Ah or 50Ah battery, and it can go up to 120 km (about 75 miles) on one charge. At first, it only comes in black, but colored versions will come later in June.

Customization Concept

The name EPA means “One Fits All” in Swedish. This shows the moped is made to be personalized. It has 11 special places where you can add parts or change the look. These look like small holes, but you can use them to make the moped your own style.

Prices Teenage Engineering Products

Teenage Engineering is known for very high prices. Their OP-XY synth costs $2,299, and the OP-1 Field can cost as much as $9,999! So people thought this moped would be super expensive too.

Price of EPA-1

But it’s not! The EPA-1 costs 19,990 SEK, which is about $2,100. That’s actually cheaper than some of their music gear, which is a big surprise.

New Direction

It might seem strange that a music company is making mopeds. But Teenage Engineering likes to try new and different things. This shows they’re not afraid to take risks and explore new ideas.

People might think it’s weird or cool, but one thing is clear, Teenage Engineering always keeps us guessing with their surprising new products. (Ref.- www.musicradar.com )
