Bangladesh’s entry into the commercial sub-orbital space arena. The Bidrohi SR Rocket, created by Dhumketu Exploration Technologies Limited(DhumketuX). This first of its kind rocket is engineered to achieve sub-orbital flight and throw the country into the global aerospace industry.
The Bidrohi Rocket’s name, inspired by the renowned poem “Birdrohi” by Kazi Nazrul Islam, serves as a symbol of Bangladesh’s indomitable spirit, strength, and increasing ambition on the world stage.
The Bidrohi SR is a two-stage suborbital rocket. The initial stage employs a powerful Agni Bina solid rocket booster, producing more than 120KN of thrust. A Kerolox liquid engine, using liquid oxygen and kerosene, powers the second stage and it is currently undergoing testing.
This 0.5 ton rocket can carry payloads up to 35 kg, aiming for suborbital space as its operational altitude.
The upcoming rocket launch will not only focus on its main objective but also deploy advanced sensors for weather forecasting , data collection, climate related studies. It will further provide 20 exclusive slots for space branding and marketing ventures.
Notably, the mission intends to celebrate national unity, identity, and pride by symbolically engraving the names of 200 million Bangladeshi citizen on the rocket’s upper stage, five national symbols, alongside national sign that showcases Bangladesh’s heritage and vision.
